Imagine Miami
Imagine Miami is the "civic network" of the Human Services Coalition. It connects people who care about South Florida and are doing something to make
it a better place.
Here's how to help us imagine and act to make Miami-Dade a better place:
- Imagine Miami Changemaker Conferences: Based on the success of our Summit on Arts, Culture & Civic Engagement
(in 2008), we launched a three-year series of "Changemaker
Conferences," with each gathering building upon the previous gathering. The latest installment of Imagine Miami: Meaningful Youth Engagement, featuring keynote speaker Adam Fletcher of The Free Child Project, will take place Friday, January 14, 2011 at Temple Israel. See the flyer below for more information.

Learn about a prior Imagine Miami conference,
which focused on tax, budget and equality issues. In between
the conferences, we're helping folks move their inspiration into action
with workshops and advocacy/leadership programs
like ACT (Advocacy Corps Trainings), and our Ning (more info below).
- Conversation Cafes:
We
offer our own seasonal breakfast panel discussions, and encourage
residents to create their own opportunities for community discussion
and dialogue. Are you interested in facilitating or participating in a
community
conversation? We've identified locations across the county where you
can join other residents in conversations about specific ways to make
positive change in Miami-Dade communities. learn more
- Workshops and Training: We occasionally offer workshops and trainings on topics
such as World Cafe dialogue, social/civic networking, community mapping
online, etc.
- Online Social/Civic Networking: Connect with other local changemakers online via our Ning or Facebook fan page.
- Action & Resource Guides:
We've created a number of guides that can help you link to local
services, resources and opportunities to volunteer, get engaged in your
community, and deepen your community leadership skills. Find the guides in our Resources section.
